Two Biscuit Aisle Mainstays
The Digestive is a constant of the British biscuit tin. Its chocolate-topped variants are so established they barely count as variants at all; they are the standard. Maltesers, meanwhile, occupy a similar space in confectionery. They are a known quantity, a reliable malty crunch. This design proposes a straightforward combination of the two.
The mockup shows the classic McVitie’s Digestive tube pack, but rendered in the specific bright red of a Maltesers bag. The biscuit itself is depicted as a standard Milk Chocolate Digestive, but with shattered pieces of the Maltesers’ honeycomb-like centre embedded in the chocolate layer. It’s an idea built on adding texture. Rather than a new flavour cream or a different type of chocolate, this suggests a new kind of crunch.
McVitie’s Brand Collaborations
While McVitie’s produces a huge catalogue of biscuits, direct crossovers with other major confectionery brands are rare in its core biscuit lines. The closest parallel in the current range is the McVitie’s Milky Way Cake Bars, which brings a Mars, Inc. product into the McVitie’s fold. A Maltesers Digestive would be a significant move, placing another Mars brand directly onto one of McVitie’s flagship products.
The company is better known for iterating within its own universe. It has created Jaffa Digestives, crossing its Jaffa Cakes and Digestive brands, and recently launched a Yuzu Lemon version of the Jaffa Cake. This is where most of the innovation happens: new formats like Hobnobs Oaty Flapjacks or simple flavour twists on an existing product. A full co-branding exercise on a Digestive would be a very different strategy.
What the real range looks like
The actual McVitie’s range focuses heavily on its own core brands and flavours. On shelves now are McVitie’s White Digestives, Jaffa Digestives, and Hobnobs Oaty Flapjacks, alongside classics like Ginger Nuts and Fruit Shortcake. A Maltesers crossover would represent a rare collaboration with an external confectionery brand, sitting apart from the current lineup.

Frequently asked questions

- What other types of Chocolate Digestives exist?
- The core range includes the classic Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate Digestives. McVitie’s also currently produces a White Chocolate Digestive and a Jaffa Cake-flavoured Digestive.
- Are McVitie’s Maltesers Digestives a real product?
