The Co-Brand Combination
Lotus Biscoff is no stranger to a brand collaboration. The caramelised biscuit has become a default third-party flavour, a reliable way for a confectionery brand to signal a limited edition without inventing a new taste from scratch. It has appeared in KitKats, Twix bars and Cadbury Dairy Milk. Applying it to Maltesers feels like an obvious next step in its conquest of the UK snack market.
The mockup, from UK Snack Attack, proposes exactly that. It’s a standard 102g sharing pouch, but with a crucial difference. The familiar red and black branding is split with the distinctive Biscoff red and white logotype. The product itself isn’t a Biscoff-flavoured chocolate. It’s a classic Malteser with an added outer layer of biscuit crumb, changing the texture entirely.
A Change in Malteser Strategy
This would be a significant departure for Mars Wrigley. The core Malteser product has remained fundamentally unchanged for decades: a sphere of malted honeycomb, coated in milk chocolate. The brand’s innovation has almost always been in format, not flavour or composition. This is a very stable brand identity.
The current range demonstrates this perfectly. We have Maltesers Truffles, Chocolate Clusters, and Cake Bars. The brand extends to drinks, with a Chocolate Milkshake and an Instant Hot Chocolate jar. Even the seasonal items, like the popular Maltesers Reindeer, are about shape and occasion. They don’t mess with the core product. Adding an external crumb layer from another brand would be a first for the original spherical sweet.
What the real range looks like
The current Maltesers range is extensive but focuses on changing the product’s format, not its core flavour. Genuine products include Maltesers Truffles, Chocolate Clusters, Cake Bars, and even a Milkshake Drink. A co-branded flavour like this Biscoff edition would be a rare addition to the line-up, which usually keeps the classic malt and chocolate combination intact.

Frequently asked questions
- What flavour is Biscoff?
- Lotus Biscoff has a unique caramelised flavour with notes of cinnamon and other spices. It’s based on the traditional Belgian ‘speculoos’ biscuit, often served with coffee.
- Has Maltesers ever done other flavours?
- While the core UK range is very stable, there have been variations over the years, including white chocolate and dark chocolate versions. However, co-branded flavours for the main product are not part of their current UK strategy.
- Are Biscoff Maltesers a real product?
- No, this product is not real. This is a Snackfish — a mockup created by UK Snack Attack. It is not made by Mars Wrigley and is not sold anywhere.
