Bounty Maltesers Concept Merges Two Mars Favourites

A Coconut Centre Crossover

A new mockup proposes a straightforward but compelling brand crossover: Bounty Maltesers. The concept places a dense, chewy coconut filling, in the style of a Bounty bar, inside the classic Maltesers milk chocolate sphere. It completely replaces the signature honeycomb centre.

The design shows a 102g sharing pouch, combining the branding of both products. The familiar red Maltesers wordmark is set against a blue background reminiscent of a Bounty wrapper, complete with palm tree silhouettes. A prominent image on the pack shows a cross-section of the new sweet, making the internal switch from honeycomb to coconut absolutely clear. The caption that accompanied the image was direct. “Bounty Maltesers! Look at that coconut filling! NEED!”.

An Ever-Expanding Range

The core Maltesers product has remained unchanged for decades, but the brand itself has expanded significantly. This is not a company that sticks to one format. The current UK range demonstrates a huge appetite for diversification beyond the standard red bag.

Today, the Maltesers name is found on everything from Maltesers Cake Bars to a bottled Maltesers Chocolate Milkshake Drink. The brand also has a strong presence in gifting and seasonal categories. Shoppers can buy Maltesers Truffles in a gift box and, at Christmas, the Maltesers Reindeer becomes a fixture. This seasonal shape is available in multipacks, mini treat bags, and multiple advent calendar formats. There is even a Maltesers Instant Hot Chocolate. A brand extension is never a surprise.

The Logic of the Mashup

While swapping the fundamental honeycomb structure for coconut would be a radical shift, the brand pairing itself makes a lot of corporate sense. Both Maltesers and Bounty are owned by Mars, Incorporated. An internal collaboration like this would be a well-trodden path for leveraging the equity of two established names under one roof.

It would represent a significant departure from the ‘malt’ element that gives the product its name, but the brand has shown it is willing to experiment. Creating a new texture and flavour profile within the familiar spherical format would be a bold move. It is, however, a logical one.

What the real range looks like

The current Maltesers range is broad, including Maltesers White Box, Clusters, Truffles, and even a milkshake. A Bounty crossover would be a new confectionery line, sitting alongside the core honeycomb product and its white chocolate variant.
