An Intra-Company Crossover
This is one of those ideas that seems obvious once you see it. It’s a Kit Kat Chunky designed to taste like The Purple One from a tin of Quality Street. The wrapper mockup, posted with the caption “Quality Street The Purple One Kit Kat Chunky! Would you try?”, uses the familiar purple foil colour and diamond pattern.
The reason it feels so logical is that both brands belong to the same parent company. Nestlé owns Kit Kat. Nestlé also owns Quality Street. This isn’t a complex third-party licensing deal; it’s a theoretical collaboration between two of the company’s biggest UK confectionery lines. The Purple One itself is a simple construction: a milk chocolate shell, a runny caramel filling, and a single whole hazelnut at its centre. Translating that into a different format presents a specific design challenge.
The Chunky Format
The Kit Kat Chunky is a different beast to a solid chocolate sweet. Its architecture is based on layers of crispy wafer, held together by a chocolate cream filling and covered in a thick layer of milk chocolate. This structure is what makes it a Kit Kat.
Adapting The Purple One’s flavour profile would mean reinterpreting its components to fit that format. The whole hazelnut is the main problem. It would be impossible to guarantee one in every bar without a complete rethink of the production line. A more likely route would be a hazelnut-flavoured creme filling, perhaps with a separate layer of caramel running alongside it above the wafer. This approach maintains the Chunky’s core structure while delivering the promised flavour notes.
What the real range looks like
The current Kit Kat range focuses heavily on sharing blocks, such as the Kit Kat Hazelnut Sharing Block and the Salted Caramel Sharing Block. A single-serve Chunky is only listed in a multipack format. This concept would fill a gap for a new, single-bar Chunky flavour, using hazelnut and caramel notes already present elsewhere in the brand’s lineup.

Frequently asked questions

- The Purple One is a milk chocolate sweet with a runny caramel centre and a whole hazelnut. It is one of the most popular sweets in the Quality Street selection tin.
- Are Kit Kat and Quality Street made by the same company?
- Yes, both brands are owned by Nestlé. This is why a brand crossover like this is considered plausible, as it would be an internal collaboration.
- Is the Quality Street Kit Kat Chunky real?
- No, this product is not real. It is a Snackfish — a mockup created by the online page UK Snack Attack — and it is not sold in any shops.
