A New Format for Doughnuts
This new design proposes a significant departure from Krispy Kreme’s established product shape. The brand is built on the individual doughnut, either the classic ring or a filled variation, sold singly or by the dozen. We know the format. This concept introduces the ‘Doughnut Wedge’.
The packaging suggests a pre-sliced, shareable product, more akin to a cake or a dessert pizza than a personal snack. It positions the doughnut as a centrepiece for a group, rather than an impulse buy for one. The box shows several triangular pieces, seemingly cut from a much larger single doughnut, retaining the classic raised texture and glaze. The idea is simple. Execution would be everything.
The Kinder Collaboration
The flavour choice is a familiar one for concept artists. Kinder, and the wider Ferrero portfolio, is a frequent subject for hypothetical brand crossovers. The specific combination here, ‘Milk & Hazelnut’, directly references the filling of a Kinder Bueno. It’s a flavour profile with a huge existing audience.
Krispy Kreme has a long history of genuine collaborations with major confectionery brands. In recent years, the company has released official tie-ins with Lotus Biscoff, Cadbury, Nestlé, and Hershey’s. A partnership with another confectionery giant is therefore not just plausible; it follows an established marketing pattern. This mockup taps directly into that strategy, presenting a combination that feels like it could, and perhaps should, exist.
What the real range looks like
While this specific concept is new, the wider brand portfolio is surprisingly diverse. The current UK ‘Flip’ range includes items such as the Gardman Flip Top Seed Feeder, a Clementoni Disney Baby Mickey Flip Phone, and two M&S Flip Dips, in Red Pepper & Cream Cheese and Basil with Pesto Drizzle. A confectionery line would be a new direction.
