A Three-Way Crossover
This design combines three very distinct pillars of the British snack landscape: Colin the Caterpillar, the tub-based ice cream, and the Club biscuit. It’s a compelling stack. While Colin is an M&S lifer and Club is a Jacob’s brand, the idea of a biscuit-based ice cream is well within the norms of the freezer aisle.
The flavour choice is specific. Not just any Club, but the Orange Club. This gives the concept a zesty chocolate-orange profile, a combination that has a proven track record. The mockup packaging retains the familiar green M&S branding and Colin’s face, adding a bright orange colourway and images of the classic foil-wrapped biscuit bar. The caption that accompanied the image was direct: “Colin the Caterpillar Orange Club Biscuit ice cream?! What a dream combo!”
The Existing Tub
This isn’t a complete leap of imagination into a new format. M&S already produces a real Colin the Caterpillar ice cream tub, which provides a solid precedent for this concept. The existing product, however, takes its textural cues from a different biscuit entirely. It features mini Fox’s Party Rings and a salted caramel core swirled through vanilla ice cream.
This mockup essentially proposes a flavour swap. It replaces the Party Rings and caramel with the chocolate and orange notes of a Club biscuit. It’s a simple substitution, but one that shifts the product’s identity from a generic birthday party theme to a more specific, classic biscuit flavour. One is multi-coloured icing and crunch; the other is thick chocolate and tangy fondant.
What the real range looks like
The product list we were given seems to refer to a different category entirely, focusing on products containing the word ‘Flip’. M&S does appear with two items: the M&S Flip Dip Red Pepper Cream Cheese Dip and the M&S Flip Dip Basil Dip with Pesto Drizzle. The rest of the list is dominated by non-food items from other brands, including the Smidge Flip Straw Bottle and the Gardman Flip Top Seed Feeder. This suggests M&S’s own ‘Flip’ range is limited to a couple of dips, a world away from Colin’s cake and ice cream territory.

Frequently asked questions
- Is Colin the Caterpillar ice cream a real product?
- Yes, M&S does sell a real Colin the Caterpillar ice cream tub. The official version contains mini Party Ring biscuits and a salted caramel core, not Orange Club biscuits.
- What is an Orange Club biscuit?
- It’s a classic British biscuit bar, made by Jacob’s. It consists of a milk chocolate shell filled with a crunchy biscuit and a bright orange-flavoured fondant cream.
- Is Orange Club Biscuit Colin ice cream available to buy?
- No, it is a Snackfish — a mockup created by UK Snack Attack — and it is not sold anywhere. It’s a piece of digital art, not a real product.
