An Energy Drink Crossover
A new design concept has surfaced online, proposing a major brand crossover: the Monster Energy Mango Loco Magnum. The mockup, shared with the caption “Fancy a cracking chocolate energy kick?”, merges the branding of the Unilever-owned ice cream with the popular energy drink.
The packaging uses Magnum’s familiar 3-pack multipack box. It is a striking design, set against a black background with the green Monster claw-mark logo prominent. The distinctive, colourful Día de Muertos-inspired skull artwork from the Mango Loco can is wrapped around the box, promising a very different experience from a standard Magnum. The image suggests a mango-flavoured ice cream centre, coated in the brand’s signature cracking chocolate shell.
A Departure From The Norm
An energy drink collaboration would be a significant pivot for Magnum. The brand’s UK range is built on a solid foundation of reliable, almost traditional ice cream flavours that have been popular for years. The core freezer-aisle offerings are the Magnum Classic, White Chocolate, Almond, and Mint sticks, which are also available in mini versions.
Even when Magnum experiments, it does so within the established confines of the dessert world. More recent additions include the Magnum Double Raspberry and the Magnum Double Salted Caramel, which layer sauces and different chocolate coatings. They have also offered a Signature Peach flavour and a Magnum Salted Caramel Ice Cream Tub. While these products show innovation in format and flavour complexity, they are all rooted in a familiar palette of fruit, caramel, nuts, and chocolate. A direct partnership with a high-caffeine energy drink sits entirely outside this proven strategy.
What the real range looks like
The current UK Magnum range includes flavours like Classic, Mint, Almond, White Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Double Raspberry, and Signature Peach. A Monster Energy Mango Loco edition would be a major departure, moving the brand from classic dessert and fruit flavours into the beverage crossover space for the first time.
