Double Dip Squashies Concept Mixes Sherbet and Foam

A Classic Flavour Reimagined

A new design concept proposes bringing one of Swizzels’ most distinct products into its bestselling Squashies range. The mockup shows a bag of Double Dip Squashies, translating the classic orange and cherry sherbet flavours into the brand’s popular foam and gum sweet format.

The original Double Dip is not a sweet in itself, but a packet of two sherbet powders with a swizzelstick for dipping. This concept reimagines that experience as a single chewy sweet. The packaging design merges the two brand identities, placing the familiar red and blue Double Dip logo onto the standard gusseted Squashies bag. The artwork shows two-tone orange and pink sweets, presumably representing the signature flavours.

The Squashies Format

The Squashies range has become a powerhouse for Swizzels since its launch. The central premise is simple: take the flavours of the company’s classic hard sweets and lollies and ‘squashify’ them into a soft, chewy format. The original assortment, for instance, contains foam-backed versions of the milk-and-raspberry Drumstick lolly and the fizzy Refresher chew.

This formula has proven highly adaptable. The brand has consistently used it to reinterpret its own back catalogue. A Double Dip version would be a logical extension of this strategy, following the same playbook that created the successful Love Hearts Squashies. It takes a known Swizzels product and imagines it in this specific texture.

What the real range looks like

The current Squashies range is broad, covering direct translations of other Swizzels sweets and more general flavour concepts. The lineup includes Original (Drumstick & Refresher), Bubblegum, Ice Cream, Love Hearts, Cherry Cola, Splits Lollies, Strawberry Cream, and Sour Cherry Apple. A Double Dip edition would fit into the category of direct reinterpretations, sitting alongside the Original and Love Hearts versions.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Swizzels Double Dip?
The original Double Dip is a classic British pocket-money sweet made by Swizzels. It consists of a small packet containing two compartments of sherbet powder, one orange and one cherry flavour, plus a compressed sugar stick (a ‘swizzelstick’) for dipping.
What are Swizzels Squashies made of?
Squashies are soft sweets, typically a combination of fruit-flavoured jelly and a lighter, aerated foam gum. They are gluten-free and made with real fruit juices, but they are not suitable for vegetarians as they contain gelatine.
Are Double Dip Squashies real?
No, this product does not exist. The image of Double Dip Squashies is a Snackfish — a mockup created by the online design page UK Snack Attack. It is not a real Swizzels product and is not on sale anywhere.
