A Major Brand Crossover
Brand crossovers of this scale are exceptionally rare. A product merging Nutella and Cadbury Wispa Gold would require a collaboration between two of the world’s largest and most competitive confectionery giants: Italy’s Ferrero and the US-based Mondelez International. While co-branded products are common within a single company’s portfolio, partnerships between direct rivals are almost unheard of in the UK grocery market.
The mockup proposes a 400g jar, the standard size for a core Nutella product, but branded with the distinctive purple and gold of Cadbury’s Wispa Gold. The visual suggests a straightforward flavour fusion, combining the classic hazelnut and cocoa spread with the caramel and aerated chocolate notes of the bar. It’s a simple proposition, but one that implies a complex corporate agreement.
The Modern Nutella Range
For decades, the Nutella brand meant one thing: the iconic Hazelnut Chocolate Spread in its glass jar. In recent years, however, Ferrero has expanded the range significantly, pushing the familiar flavour into entirely new formats. This strategy has proven successful, creating a portfolio that moves far beyond a simple breakfast spread.
The current UK lineup includes snack formats like Nutella B Ready Chocolate Biscuits and the tube-packaged Nutella Chocolate Hazelnut Biscuits. The brand has also moved into the freezer aisle, first with a Nutella Chocolate Hazelnut Ice Cream Tub and more recently with Nutella Chocolate Hazelnut Bake At Home Frozen Croissants. This diversification shows a clear willingness to experiment. Even the original spread now has a stablemate in the form of the Nutella Plant Based Hazelnut Chocolate Spread. A new flavour variant would be a logical, if ambitious, next step.
Translating Wispa Gold to a Spread
The core identity of a Wispa bar is its texture. The thousands of tiny air bubbles are what define it. Wispa Gold adds a layer of caramel, but the aerated chocolate remains the main event. Replicating this in a dense, smooth spread is impossible. The challenge, therefore, would be to capture the specific flavour profile of Wispa Gold’s chocolate and caramel, separate from its unique physical form.
Cadbury already produces several chocolate spreads based on its other bars, including Crunchie and Caramel, so a template exists for translating its confectionery into a spreadable format. This concept, however, merges that idea with a pre-existing, iconic spread from another manufacturer. It raises the question of which base would be used: would it be Nutella with Wispa Gold flavouring, or a Cadbury-style chocolate spread with added hazelnut? The branding on the mockup firmly suggests the former.
What the real range looks like
The current Nutella range includes the classic hazelnut spread, B Ready biscuits, an ice cream tub, and even frozen croissants. A Wispa Gold edition would be a new flavour for the core spread, which at present only has a standard and a plant-based variant in the UK.

Frequently asked questions
- Is this an official collaboration between Cadbury and Nutella?
- No. Collaborations between competing global confectionery companies like Mondelez (Cadbury) and Ferrero (Nutella) are extremely rare. This concept combines two of the most recognisable brands in the UK market, but it is not an official product.
- Does Cadbury make a Wispa spread?
- Cadbury does not currently produce a Wispa or Wispa Gold chocolate spread. The company does, however, have a range of spreads based on its other popular bars, including Cadbury Caramel, Crunchie, and Dairy Milk.
- Is Wispa Gold Nutella real?
- No, it is a Snackfish — a mockup created by UK Snack Attack — and it is not sold anywhere. UK Snack Attack is a Facebook page that creates concept images of fictional food products.
