Cadbury Dairy Milk Bounty Buttons Pouch Concept

An Unexpected Crossover

The latest confectionery concept to appear online is a true brand crossover. This design imagines a share pouch of Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons, but with a significant change to the classic solid chocolate format. Each button is filled with a soft coconut cream, directly borrowing the flavour profile from the Bounty bar.

This is notable because the two brands are from rival parent companies. Cadbury is owned by Mondelez International, while Bounty is a core part of the Mars, Incorporated portfolio. Such collaborations are extremely rare in the confectionery world, which usually sees brands innovate within their own stables. The idea itself, however, combines two very familiar UK products.

The Cadbury Licensed Range

While a partnership with Mars would be new, extending the Cadbury brand name into different categories is standard practice. The company’s licensing operation is extensive. You see it everywhere.

The Cadbury logo appears on a huge variety of products beyond the chocolate aisle, particularly in chilled desserts and bakery. The current UK range includes Cadbury Fudge Cake Bars and Caramel Cake Bars, Cadbury Snack Shortcake, and Cadbury Mini Brownies. In the freezer section, you can find Cadbury Boost and Flake ice cream tubs, alongside 99 Flake Cones and even a Buttons-branded ice cream cone. Then there are the Pots of Joy desserts. The brand is no stranger to reinvention.

Changing the Format

The core appeal of a Dairy Milk Button is its simplicity. It is a disc of solid milk chocolate, designed to melt on the tongue. Adding a filling fundamentally changes that product. It moves Buttons closer in concept to something like a Cadbury Creme Egg, albeit on a much smaller scale.

The mockup shows the buttons split in half to reveal a solid white cream filling, presented in the familiar purple share pouch format. The caption that accompanied the image simply asked: “Bounty Coconut Cream filled Dairy Milk Buttons! Would you grab these?”

What the real range looks like

The fictional Bounty flavour would join a wide array of existing Cadbury-branded products in UK shops, which aren’t limited to chocolate. The licensed range currently includes desserts and cakes like Cadbury Pots of Joy and Cadbury Caramel Cake Bars, and frozen items such as Cadbury Boost Ice Cream and Cadbury 99 Flake Cones.
